Please replace in its entirety with the following:
Liabilities
Prior to all ABRS programs students will be required to sign personal risk & liability waivers, indemnifying ABRS of any injury, loss or damages to their personal equipment incurred during the event.
Allen Berg Racing Schools offers a full spectrum of racing programs that can take you from the sidelines all the way to top level of pro racing. However, as in all forms of motor sports, crash damage responsibility is sometimes a concern.
At ABRS we share accident damage responsibility with you. Students are only responsible for accident damage up to $2,500 for the first incident in any of our half, one day and day one of our two day formula car programs. Crash damage liability is limited to $10,000 for first incident for our advanced formula car programs. Karting program crash damage is limited to $250 per kart for the first incident and $1,500 for Corporate and Arrive and Drive kart programs. If you have an incident that results in damage to ABRS equipment, you can continue albeit at the discretion of ABRS staff and your liability level will be increased. ABRS will cover damages over and above your liability limit. If for some reason student’s portion of accident damage is not covered due to credit card rejection, student will be fully responsible and liable for full cost of accident damage repair.
Although accidents do occasionally occur, it is extremely rare that a spin or mistake on track will result in any damage.
When you sign in the first day of the course, you will be requested to sign a Damage Liability Agreement, complete with your credit card details, in case of accident damage.
Reservations, Rescheduling and Cancellations
All group or corporate reservations require a 50% deposit at time of booking and full payment is due 30 days prior to the course. Any bookings within 30 days of event require full payment at time of booking. Payment can made by wire transfer, money order, bank draft, cash, cheque drawn on any Canadian chartered bank, Visa or MasterCard. All payments should be made out to Allen Berg Racing Schools Inc.
If you have paid your deposit by way of credit card we will automatically charge the outstanding balance of your event to this card 30 days prior to your event date without notice unless alternate form of payment has been previously arranged.
If it is necessary to reschedule your course, please notify ABRS immediately. Rescheduling is accepted up to thirty days prior to an event at no charge. Rescheduling less than thirty days prior to event will incur a $150 handling fee. Rescheduling less than fifteen days prior to event will incur a $250 handling fee. You can change to another date or you can go to "to be scheduled" status until you are ready to take your course. You are responsible for any increase in course prices if you choose to reschedule a course after the original purchase date.
Cancellations accepted with refund less a 10% handling fee up to thirty days prior to your event. Within thirty days of your event there are no refunds; however we will work with you to reschedule your event in accordance to our rescheduling policy.
ABRS will not reschedule your event if no prior notice is provided. We consider this to be a "no show" and your entire tuition will be forfeited. We are not responsible for personal or business conflicts, cancelled travel arrangements, medical emergencies, or other unforeseen changes in your plans that prevent you from attending your event. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason and a refund or alternate date will not be granted.
Prerequisites for Basic Formula Car and Karting Programs
There are no age restrictions for formula car courses All students who participate in an ABRS formula car program only require road car driving experience – no previous high performance or competitive driving experience is required. As the transmissions and 5 speed manual gearboxes students must be proficient in operating a manual transmission.
It is recommended that students participating in a karting program have some experience in driving motorized vehicles (roadcars, motorbikes, quads, commercial go karts).
Prerequisites for Advanced Programs
All students who wish to participate in an ABRS formula car lapping program must have taken an ABRS one or two Day Formula School or equivalent at another ASN Recognized Formula Car Racing School. Students who wish to participate in the ABRS Arrive & Drive Karting Program must have participated in at least an ABRS 1 Day Karting School. Once you have shown evidence that you have previous experience, it is up to the sole discretion of staff to determine your qualifications to step into these advanced programs, you may be required to take an additional ABRS half, or onel day course.
Gift Certificates
Gift Certificates are refundable within 30 days of date on certificate (dated the day of recipient’s birthday, Christmas etc.) after 30 days certificates are fully transferable to another recipient but non-refundable.
Rain Checks and Course Cancellations
All ABRS Formula Car and Road Car programs operate rain or shine unless, at the sole discretion of ABRS staff, the conditions are considered unsafe. For our kart courses if the weather doesn’t cooperate we will give you a rain check to reschedule. Arrive and Drive race events will operate under the direction of the CKRC Clerk of the Course.
In the event of a declared rain out (subject to the discretion of ABRS staff), third party cancellation (such as track unavailability) or force majeur, ABRS we will make every effort to reschedule your event or any missed portion thereof as conveniently as possible. Refunds will not be granted if a course cannot be completed due to weather or unforeseeable situations out of the control of ABRS.
ABRS personnel, at their sole discretion, shall have the right to cancel a student’s enrollment in any ABRS program at any point and at any time prior to or during an event if ABRS staff considers the ABRS student not capable or willing to operate ABRS equipment in accordance to ABRS instruction and policies. In this instance there will be no refund whatsoever.
Technical Failures
Should your racecar or kart experience a technical failure ABRS shall immediately transfer you into another school car to complete your course.
Dress Standards
It is the responsibility of the student to come appropriately dressed including footwear for the school in accordance to our recommendations. Inadequate footwear may impede the safe control of your vehicle and is grounds for refusal of entry into programs.
Punctuality
ABRS courses are designed to provide a graduated learning experience; each module is built upon the previous one. Further, in order to give you the maximum amount of track time and experience for your investment, ABRS courses are run on tight schedules and are time certain. If a student is late for a course ABRS will make every effort to accommodate the student into the program however if this would impede the other students program of if the student has missed critical classroom information or driving exercises they may be refused entry into the course. Please be punctual or call us if you will be late!
ABRS reserves the right to change or alter these policies at anytime and without notice.
