All ABRS personnel bring a wealth of knowledge to the team and our three key employees have a combined total of over seventy years experience in the Racing Schools business. Our fully qualified and highly professional instructors all share a passion to create a dynamic racing school, in which our customers have an unparalleled driving experience. Our programs are ideal for both those clients who are only looking for the experience of driving authentic formula racecars to those looking to ABRS to provide the fundamentals in which to go racing.

 Allen Berg - President, CEO and Chief Instructor

Allen Berg brings to ABRS over thirty years of experience at the international level in the racing business, unprecedented in Western Canada.

Allen’s experience includes Formula One, Formula Two, Formula Three, Formula Atlantic, Sport Prototypes and touring cars, winning over a quarter of all the races he entered during his twenty five year driving career. Allen also drove with and ran his own racing team, Scuadra Fortia, in the North American Toyota Atlantic Series, played a pivotal role in organizing the Formula Renault racing series and was Chief Instructor for three years for BMW Mexico directing their "Fahrer Training" program. Allen has worked as Instructor for the Derek Daly Racing Academy, Skip Barber Racing Schools and Mosport Racing Schools. He also served as Chief Instructor for the Calgary Sports Car Club’s basic racing license Schools, instructing and evaluating up to seventy drivers per program.

Allen has extensive experience working as a race driving coach and technical consultant for professional drivers and teams. In recent years, Allen has worked in racing industry administration, including series and event organization, negotiation with circuits and promoters, FIA procedures and regulations, transport logistics and customs, race administration and marketing.

 David Piket – Instructor

David Piket is arguably the leading high performance driving instructor in Alberta. David has a formal training background from the Canadian Ski Instructor’s Alliance and has been a professional ski instructor and coach for over thirty years. He has worked as a trainer and examiner with both the Canadian and American Ski Instruction Organizations. David founded and then coached the US synchronized ski team to a silver medal in the World Championships. Other honors include two gold medals, four bronze medals and appearances in the NASTAR National Finals.

David still operates as a private ski coach, but also has an outstanding reputation in automotive education and driver instruction, working as a new vehicle trainer with sales staff at Daimler Chrysler and Lexus since 1999 and as an instructor and demonstrator with the BMW Canada Calgary Club. David is the lead instructor with Superior Safety Systems, an advanced safety driving Schools specializing in oil field equipment.

Outside the motor sports field, David is an instructor with Forward Thinking Dynamics Inc, a Colorado based company, dedicated to raising training levels in corporations through experienced base learning. David has also developed a five day experiential based learning system for gifted students with Kids Adventure Learning Systems, focusing on linking the environment, teachers, and sport to overcome difficulties in learning and applying life skills.

Part engineer, part kinesiologist, part sport physiologist, David’s background and coaching methods have made him a highly sought after professional mentor, who we are delighted to have on staff at ABRS.

 Edouard Kassianoff – Technical Assistant

Raised with an emphasis on sport, Edouard has successfully competed in soccer, running, ice hockey and most recently F2000 racing. After graduating from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with a diploma in Computer Integrated Design (Mechanical Design) Edouard has worked various positions including product design, engineering support and component design. His previous education allied with the recent completion of the Mechanics Training Program at the Bridgestone Racing Academy provides a firm base of mechanical understanding and technical skill.










 Kyle Ho – Data Acquisition

Kyle is an experienced local racer, competing in Karting, Auto Slalom, Auto Sprint and Road Racing on a local level. He completed two years program of Business Automotive management at SAIT and has also achieved his Race car instructor title from Western Canada Motorsport Association & Southern Albert BMW Club. With 10 years of racing experience, complimented by his enthusiasm and passion for racing, ABRS is pleased to include Kyle in their staff roster as Data Acquisition and Information Technology Specialist.










 Kyle Stevens

Kyle Stevens is one of Canada’s top go-kart racers to this date. Raised around speed, Kyle started driving go-karts at the young age of 4 years old. At 8 years old Kyle started to competitively race, showing right away that he had natural talent. In 1999 Kyle entered his first full racing season with great talent as well as support from his father and mentor leading to a 3rd place finish in the season standings, a first for a jr. rookie diver.

Since then Kyle has claimed many major championships including two British Columbia Regional championships, five Alberta regional Championships and many Edmonton and Calgary club championships. In 2008 Kyle placed 2nd in the Western Canadian Championships, as well as 7th in the 2008 Canadian Nationals. His passion, focus and goals are to advance into Formula race cars within the up-coming years.

Outside of Kart racing Kyle downhill ski raced from 7 years old until his ski racing peak in 2005 claiming a spot on the Alberta Ski Team for the K-2 Canadian finals. Since then Kyle retired from ski racing to focus on his car racing career and remains apart of the sport by coaching in Edmonton Alberta for the Snow Valley Ski Racing Association rising up through the ranks quickly having many of his athletes podium, reaching the most important position in the levels of junior competition as the Nancy Greene Head coach. Kyle is one of the youngest people to ever accomplish such a position.

Having Kyle Stevens is a great addition to the Allen Berg Racing School’s team as apart of both technical and the instructional staff.

We are offering 2 Road Car Lapping Sessions in the students own cars at the Race City Speedway roadracing circuit on Tuesday August 26 from 7 AM to 12 PM.

Our Introductory Road Car Lapping session will run in the morning. This will include a one hour classroom session at 7AM (for those that have not previously taken our classroom module) followed by basic exercises commencing at 8AM, lead and follow lapping with instructors to learn the driving line, then supervised open lapping until 12 PM. Cost for this program is $200 + GST per person.

For graduates of our Formula Car and Road Car programs (including the morning program on August 26) we are offering supervised Road Car lapping sessions (no exercises or classroom theory) on this same afternoon, Tuesday August 26, from 12PM to 4PM. Cost for this program is $200 + GST per person.

We will provide a pre event tech form with guidelines to ensure safe vehicle performance on this day. The on track sessions require use of helmets, which we can provide at no additional charge.

ABRS is pleased to announce a technical alliance with Motec Systems, recognized world leader in racecar data acquisition technology for professional racing teams worldwide. The addition of cutting edge data acquisition computers synchronized with on-board video cameras installed in all of our Formula Cars will provide a record of all driving inputs, which allow us to critique driving performance in debriefing sessions regularly throughout the day in our 1 and 2 day Formula Car courses. Further, drivers in our 1 and 2 day Formula car courses a complimentary DVD video of lapping sessions as recorded by our on board cameras. By offering this unique service as a standard component of our curriculum sets ABRS apart from all other racing and driving schools.
