Allen Berg Racing Schools, operating at Race City Speedway in Calary and now introducting Half Day, One Day and Two Day Formula Car programs at the Rivers Edge Road Course in Mission BC, provides every customer with an authentic experience in racing. ABRS uses a fleet of race vehicles that are currently used on a regular basis in international competition, which is unique in the racing school industry.
We are the only racing school to employ Formula One style MoTeC data acquisition technology on all of our racecars, the same data systems as used by teams in the Indy Racing League, ALMS and the legendary Indianapolis 500. These systems monitor a number of driver and racecar parameters including:
- on board video cameras
- throttle position
- brake pedal pressure
- steering wheel position
- speed
- engine revs
- cornering / acceleration / braking force
- global positioning system
- on board cameras
- lap and track section times
During our one and two day formula car programs we will record all of this information and use it to monitor and critique our driver’s performance, providing a comparison to experienced racers under the same conditions. To make your time with us truly unforgettable you will take it away with you. At the end of your course we will provide you with a 2GB USB Card with your video, data, a copy of the MoTeC software with instructions, as well as a variety of photos that are taken during your day with us.

We are the first racing school in North America to utilize vehicles with Monocoque carbon fibre chassis, manufactured in the same factory that produces chassis for a number of Formula One teams. Chassis are 100% Carbon Fiber, versus other racing schools which still use tube frame chassis technology that dates from the 1960’s.
Gearboxes are five speed “sequential” transmissions with “no lift shift” programming, enabling the driver to smoothly make gear changes at a faster and more consistent rate. This decreases the possibility of missed shifts, something quite common in the older H pattern system. This system also allows for the use of both “left and right foot braking” techniques. Five speed “sequential” transmissions are now the preferred technology of such series as Champcar, IRL and Formula Atlantic.
The Monoshock Pushrod suspension represent the very latest technology currently used in all advanced formula racecars. Both front wheels act on a single spring and the shock absorber is mounted on the top of the chassis, connected to the wheels by means of a “pushrod”. This system reduces both weight and air resistance, making for a faster racecar.
All ABRS racecars are powered by Fuel Injected 4 cylinder 1600 cc, manufactured by Renault, Formula One World Champions in both 2005 and 2006.
Graduates of our 2 day programs have the qualifications to apply for an ASN Road Racing License.
