Despite the relatively shorter season for motorsports in Canada, Allen Berg Racing Schools is now a year round destination for racing enthusiasts.
ABRS is pleased to offer Formula car programs at the FIA approved 2.2 mile La Guacima Racetrack, located on the outskirts of San Jose, Costa Rica.
Available February 9-13, packages include two or three day driving courses, which you can combine with trips to various tourist destinations in spectacular Costa Rica.
You will spend two days (Feb 9 & 10) learning the circuit through our standard 2 day program in a Formula Arcobeleno racecar, similar in performance to our Formula Renault chassis. This program is limited to 6 drivers only.
Following the two day program you have the option to test a Formula Renault 2.0L racecar. These are the big brothers to our 1.6 L version with a much higher performance level at 185hp and running on racing slicks. The performance is half way between our race cars and a Toyota Atlantic racecar – a very fast racecar. The racecars are equipped with AIM data acquisition systems. We currently have 4 half day slots available.
We will provide the level of vehicle preparation, professionalism and instruction as what you experienced at ABRS in Canada. We also provide in depth drivers coaching as part of the Formula Renault tests.
Inaugurated in 1974 this world-class racetrack is located in La Guacima, Costa Rica, twenty minutes from the San Jose International Airport and just thirty minutes from downtown San Jose.
Autodromo La Guacima is widely recognized as one of the finest racing facilities in Latin America. This FIA licensed circuit is in operation twelve months of the year and frequently hosts high profile international auto and motorcycle racing series.
3100 meters in length with a width of 12 meters, La Guacima is considered an extremely technical track, with twelve distinctive curves of varying speeds as well as numerous elevation changes. La Guacima offers full media facilities, a fully licensed restaurant, dedicated race shops located on site, full electronic timing and scoring with its scoring tower and on site wireless Internet. Recent additions to the circuit include a new three-story television tower, shaded VIP grandstands and corporate suites.
ABRS has a strategic alliance with Swiss Travel, Costa Rica’s leading travel agency for whom we recommend hotel and ancillary tour arrangements. Our recommended Hotel is the Melia Cariari located just outside San Jose and only minutes from the La Guacima Racetrack. Swiss Travel can also organize day trips from San Jose if you are travelling with someone who is not interested in sticking around the racetrack all of the time, as well as multi day tourism packages preceding or following your time with us, such as what is listed on our website.
This luxury resort hotel offers the perfect setting, located only five minutes from the international airport and just ten minutes from downtown San Jose. All rooms have remote control TV, air conditioning, safety deposit boxes, electronic key system, mini bars, direct dial telephone and 24 hour room service.
The Cariari Doubletree has a fully equipped gymnasium, aerobic classes, saunas, massage service, the Melia Casino and two swimming pools. The beautiful 18 hole championship Golf Course of Valle del Sol is also just few minutes from the hotel. Dining at the Cariari Doubletree ranges from fine dining in the Curime Restaurant to Las Tejas Coffee Shop and the Chiriqui Bar alongside the swimming pool.
