Allen Berg Racing Schools’ Formula Car Coaches, Cameron Parsons, took a double win at Sonoma for the Formula Car Challenge’s season opener in the Formula Mazda class.

The Formula Car Challenge season opener took place on the 15th and 16th of March at the twisty Sonoma Raceway. The weekend brought beautiful weather overall, but race scheduling forced the drivers and teams to work on constant adjustments for early morning qualifying sessions and late afternoon race conditions. Cameron qualified first fastest on Saturday and second fastest on Sunday, with only a couple tenths of a second separating the top positions on both days. With the help of a strong car setup for the late afternoon races, Cameron managed to cross the finish line both days with more than a 25 second lead each.

Allen Berg

Allen Berg ranks among Canada's top racing personalities. He won the Formula Pacific Tasman Championship, won at Silverstone against Ayrton Senna and Martin Brundle in perhaps the greatest year ever in British Formula 3, and qualified for nine starts in F1, a record bettered among his countrymen only by Gilles and Jacques Villeneuve.
