Abrs graduate-“thomas-boniface” wins at hampton downs - ca

At 13 years of age and in only his second year as a TKR Development Academy driver, Thomas Boniface has achieved his first Touring Car race win in extremely trying conditions and against a quality field of competitors at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park on the weekend.

Boniface, who was selected as a TKR Development Academy driver after a nationwide search by TKR before the commencement of last season’s BMW Drivers Series, has shown plenty of development as a driver both on and off the race track over the last 12 months.

“It was great for Thomas, family and friends, the TKR Development Academy, and our sponsors and supporters to see Thomas take his first Touring Car win in the opening round of the BMW Race Drivers Series at Hampton Downs on the weekend, especially in the very trying conditions the drivers and crews faced all weekend.”

“To see a young driver like Thomas achieve his first ever race win and then back it up with a 2nd placing in Race 2 is a special occasion for all involved, and it makes all the hard work done away from the track along with the hard yards that are put into raise and or provide the required finances worth it in return,” I said, David John.

“I am grateful for the opportunity that TKR has provided to me for my second season, and I hope that this win is a sign of much more to come for the team and myself.”

“I like driving the TKR All Black Mini and hope that we can achieve more race wins this season,” said Boniface.

Boniface has been joined this season by ex-SpeedSport scholarship winner James Webb, who will compete in a second TKR BMW Mini this season. Thomas competes in the 2. 0L class and Webb compete in the Open class.

Allen Berg

Allen Berg ranks among Canada's top racing personalities. He won the Formula Pacific Tasman Championship, won at Silverstone against Ayrton Senna and Martin Brundle in perhaps the greatest year ever in British Formula 3, and qualified for nine starts in F1, a record bettered among his countrymen only by Gilles and Jacques Villeneuve.
