Boss gp - zolder belgium

ABRS Grad Phil Stratford takes overall win in the highly competitive European Boss F1 Series, held at Zolder Belgium this past weekend.

Driving a 1997 Benetton B197, Phil qualified 2nd with a time of 1:19.310, just behind the 2004 Jaguar R5 driven by Klaas Zwart of Holland.

Phil was running behind Zwart at the beginning, then took the lead just before a halfway, coming home more than 6 seconds in front of the second-placed driver Salvatore de Plano of Italy.

It was Phil’s first overall win in BOSS GP, and is the first American driver to win a BOSS GP race.

Congrats to Phil and his crew, no doubt the first of many more victories to come!

Allen Berg ranks among Canada's top racing personalities. He won the Formula Pacific Tasman Championship, won at Silverstone against Ayrton Senna and Martin Brundle in perhaps the greatest year ever in British Formula 3, and qualified for nine starts in F1, a record bettered among his countrymen only by Gilles and Jacques Villeneuve.
