Abrs puts 2020 in the rear-view mirror

Local, regional, and state shutdown regulations, travel restrictions, quarantines, mask requirements, and the proper application of hand sanitizer were not part of the pre-2020 planning that Allen Berg and his staff undertook as the racing school season began in March.

“All-in-all, I’d say we are very happy with how we managed to come back from many setbacks throughout this year”, enthused Allen Berg, founder, and CEO of Allen Berg Racing Schools. “Together with our understanding customers, suppliers, and partners, we managed cancellations, schedule, and re-schedule changes, as well as government regulations to get through 2020 relatively unscathed.”

Allen Berg Racing Schools, which began offering 1, 2, and 3-day racing school programs at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in 2015, managed to complete 2020 with 85% of available seats filled by an enthusiastic, understanding, and COVID-compliant customer base.

“Our customers were fantastic throughout the entire year. Several had to re-schedule their program two or three times but we all made it work,” explained Berg. “Planning for 2021 is well underway and we have posted the first of our 2021 on-track dates on our website.”

But there is much more to Allen Berg Racing Schools that you may not be aware of.

Formula-1-racing

Most people, when they think of Allen Berg Racing Schools, think about the long-running, successful, and highly-rated 1-day, 2-day, and 3-day on track racing school programs at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. But, what many people do not know is that ABRS has been leveraging its unique assets away from the race track as well.

When you consider our core competencies at ABRS, in the simplest of terms, we are subject matter experts in car control, driving technique, and driver behavior. These core competencies result is ABRS conducting programs away from the race track and using vehicles provided by various automotive companies, suppliers, and corporate clients. For the most part, these programs operate under NDA, so we do not talk about them, share images on social media, or have program descriptions on our website.

In 2020, many of these programs were also operated successfully despite the COVID protocols.

“We’ve been operating these specialized programs for several years, and have done so for world-class companies in the automotive and mobility space”, offers Berg. “For 2021, and as the automotive world continues to evolve, the opportunities for ABRS to expand the leveraging of our asset and knowledge base will only grow and will continue to be a big part of our company offerings.”

And, although the 2020 and 2021 COVID restrictions have limited the opportunities for corporate entertainment events, ABRS still has the ability to operate these programs safely and successfully using its race cars at Laguna Seca or using fleets provided by our clients.

Here’s to a safe and successful 2021!
