ABRS Grad Joey Bickers Climbs Up the Racing Ladder

Joey Bickers, another student of Allen Berg Racing Schools has been in the racing spotlight recently, climbing the ranks of auto racing in the MX-5 Cup series.

With a later start than most when it comes to entering auto racing, Joey has proved that it takes more than simply seat time to be competitive. He started racing go karts in 2011, and quickly thereafter found himself behind the wheel of our formula cars in 2012, to take his racing career to the next level. It took very little time for Joey to then carry his knowledge and experience from karting and our racing school into a regional racing series, the Pacific Formula F1600 Championship Series in 2013.

Joey kept his career’s momentum going strong as he was selected as a Team USA Scholarship winner, representing Team USA as the Formula Ford Festival event at Brands Hatch in England. He went on to win the 2013 Mazda Club Racer Shootout, awarding him a fully funded season in the SCCA Pro Racing Mazda MX-5 Cup series.

Only 5 years of racing and Joey is already making quite a name for himself. He is only two weekends into the 2014 season of the MX-5 Cup series, but the year is already looking promising vision.

We’d like to thank Joey for choosing Allen Berg Racing Schools to prepare him for his road racing career, and wish him our best for the future!

Allen Berg

Allen Berg ranks among Canada's top racing personalities. He won the Formula Pacific Tasman Championship, won at Silverstone against Ayrton Senna and Martin Brundle in perhaps the greatest year ever in British Formula 3, and qualified for nine starts in F1, a record bettered among his countrymen only by Gilles and Jacques Villeneuve.
